In the name of full disclosure:

At this point in the night, I'm regretting my ambition with this exhibition. I slept very little last night, and after spending nearly 17 hours in the gallery space today, I'm feeling more than a little burned out. My brain is barely functioning, and my legs have long since given up.

One of the evening security guards came to draw and chat with me for nearly an hour. We listened to Christmas music and talked about communication theory, educational systems, and relationships. It all felt very Elizabethtown.

When I look up from my screen, my eyes fixate on the tall artificial Christmas tree against the west wall of the atrium. Fluffy, glittery garland and presents covered in loud wrapping paper are enough to send me into a delirium.

Things have quieted down for the evening here in the gallery. It's time to curl up and get warm next to the projector fan.

Set-up is complete. Unfortunately, photos don't do justice to the little bits of gold lettering on the projection wall. Gold + chartreuse = love. 4 ever.

Talked with Gian for a few minutes about Raoul Eshelman's "Performatism."
A Wikipedia search redirects to Post-Postmodernism. Eshelman describes Performatism as "a new epoch in which subject, sign, and thing come together in ways that create an aesthetic experience of transcendency."

The building is abuzz with custodial staff. A student employee is circling me on what looks like a tiny zamboni. When she turns corners, the rubber wheels rub against the polished tile, and it sounds like a crowd of screaming girls.

I'm waiting for gallery employees to install a wall behind me so I can hang a screen for projections. There are no available electrical outlets in sight.
